| Stacey Kostes...Her Career |
|
Stacey Kostes is following in the footsteps
of musical greats like Sheryl Crow, Steve
Wariner, and Barry Manilow. What do they all
have in common? Their careers all started
as back-up singers and musicians for
famous artists. And so has Stacey. "I sang
back-up and played acoustic guitar for
Jo Dee Messina for 5 years." Most people
would be content just to kick back, and stay in
their "comfort zone". But not this Chicago
native. "I moved to Nashville to pursue a
record deal, and sing at the Grand Ole Opry.
Touring with Jo Dee Messina has brought
me one step closer to achieving my dreams."

On Her Way
Stacey moved to Nashville to pursue her
music career. She began as studio manager
at a recording studio. Soon she learned to
engineer one sessions. She also sang on
demos, every chance she got. Then, Stacey
got the chance to audition as back-up singer
and acoustic guitar player for a new, country
act. "This wasn't an ordinary audition. I got the
job for one weekend. If it worked out, I got to
keep the job for another weekend - if not, I was
out! I must have done all right, 'cause I toured
with Jo Dee Messina for 5 years!"

What an Awesome Experience!
"I have traveled all over the United States
and the world, with my voice and my guitar
as my passport. I've been to England, Ireland,
Scotland, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, and
Australia. I have played and sang in 48 states
and it has been incredible. We did lots of
radio station visits, where we sang live in
the studio, which was very cool. We also did
manyTV appearances, including The Tonight
Show with Jay Leno, Regis and Kathy Lee,
The View, Prime Time Country, All Access
and Showcase Artist on CMT, and of course,
the highlight - playing The Grand Ole Opry!"

Satisfied
"The old classic country song, Satisfied,
was the first song I ever recorded in
Nashville, at Angello Sound Studio, (that's
when I first met Bob Angello!) and it has been
a dream of mine to sing that song on the
Opry stage. It was the first song of mine that was played on WSM AM 650 by Hairl Hensley.
And it seems to reflect my feelings about my
career and my life. I have been so blessed
with a wonderful family, great husband, lots
of great friends, loyal fans, and an awesome
career. I am the luckiest girl in the world.
"I want to thank the folks at WSM AM 650
for playing my music and making me feel
like a star already, especially Hairl Hensley,
Bill Cody, Johnny K, and Matthew Gillian.
Thanks go out to my publicist, Rhonda Clark,
and my fan club president, Tami Olin, too.
Oh yes, I'm satisfied...but I'm not done yet!"
